For boats that do not hydroplane, there are many possible designs. Below, you can build two more. Catamarans have a split hull for maximum side-to-side stability. If the sail, bumpers and upward tilt are maintained in the design, a catamaran can achieve a speed nearly as fast as a wave, 5 to 7 seconds in a 10 foot raingutter. A paddleboat is not fast, but is fun to watch and most challenging to build.
